Day 4 Decorated Easter Egg Holder

Welcome to Day 4 of our GQ Spring Hop, this week is sure flying by.....I had my first 4 projects done early but today I have been busily trying to finish up my project for friday. Tomorrow I have a full schedule-my daughter has a buckle fracture and were going to a specialist in the morning and in the afternoon I have parent-teacher conferences for all 3 girls, then I need to rush home and finish up fridays project and take photos, lol.......I could have picked something easier but I had my mind made up and I'm not changing it :) My husband just thinks I'm goofy, lol.

For today I had a fun idea to make little Easter egg holders, kind of like the little paper holders you get in the egg coloring kits, I wanted to make it look as though the egg was sitting in some grass, a group of these together would make an adorable Easter display, or to use at a party. (I could just imagine having one sitting at each place setting at an Easter Dinner)They would also make a fun craft project for kids. I started with a simple CS base 2"x (depends on the size of your egg) attach the ends together and start decorating. I used the 'Everybunny' stamp set, 'Enchanted DSP, and subtles CS. I really love the way they turned out, now my girls want to make a bunch for Easter :)

Thanks for taking time from your day to stop by and visit, I'm really enjoying all the wonderful comments from everyone, have a wonderful day and be sure to stop by tomorrow for our Day 5 projects. Now on to Jennifer's Blog........Happy Hopping!

Day 3 Embellished Note pads

Welcome to Day 3 of our GQ Spring Hop, I'm so happy that you've come back to see what we have new today! I'm having a great time sharing and I'm getting so inspired by all the lovely creations, can't wait to see what the rest of the week brings.

Today I'm going to share something a little different, I had bought several of the small purse sized lined notepads that I wanted to decorate for an upcoming craft fair, plus they make great little gifts, so I decorated a few to share and inspire you. Look around there's so many things we use on a daily basis that we can really cute up, lol, plus it makes that item more fun to use :)

For this project I used DSP; Flirtatious, Enchanted & Sweet Shop; stamp sets, Tea Shoppe, Notes & Details; the fancy flower punch and the doily triple layer punch. I also used the pleated ribbon from the Mini, the embellishment ribbon from the SAB, & grosgrain ribbon from the IBC.

I covered and embellished the front and back plus the inside of the front and back covers, there's even room for a small picture and some journaling or personalizing.

To create the large flower on the front, I used the die cut doily sheet in the flirtatious DSP, I carefully cut one complete doily, then I daubed a little ink on the edges and used a thin knitting needle to curl the edges, then I punched out 2 fancy flowers and 1 triple layer doily for the center. I used a dauber to ink the edges of all these pieces as well then I used a brad (from SAB catalog) to layer and attach them together.

I hope your enjoying the hop so far.....
Thanks for visiting and don't forget to leave a comment, every comment throughout the week is another chance to win Blog Candy!.....and be sure to stop by tomorrow I have a project with eggs :) lol....Happy Hopping!; Now on to Jennifer's Blog..............

Happy Easter Greeting Day Two

Hello, and welcome to day 2 of our Spring Hop! I want to Thank everyone who visited &/or commented yesterday, your interest and kind words are very much appreciated! It encourages and inspires myself and the other glitter queens to plan more hops :) More hops mean more ideas!

Today I am working with the 'Everybunny' stamp set, the framelits die (labels collection), seam binding ribbon and pearls. This stamp set is really fun to work with for easter/spring projects, you can find it in the IBC, I have something cute planned using it for the end of the week.

I liked the idea of using the bunny in the balloon floating up in the sky so I decided to use the framelits die to frame the area for my scene, I just cut two sizes one in whisper white and one in the next size up using 'enchanted' DSP. I used SU markers and watercolor pencils to color in the stamped images, then attached them with dimensionals. I balanced it all out with a bow and pearl accents. The inside has the stamped image of a little chick coming out of it's shell.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave a comment, every comment throughout the week is another chance to win Blog Candy!.....and be sure to stop by tomorrow and see what else I have up my sleeve, lol....
Happy Hopping!; Now on to Jennifer's Blog......

Spring Hop Paper Test Tube Favors

Good Morning and Welcome to our Spring Hop! I'm so happy you are hopping along with us today....be sure to check back all week as we will all be sharing a new project each day. You should have just arrived from the very talented Joan Robertson's blog, she is so inspiring and creates such beautiful paper crafts, I always look forward to seeing what she has created.

Today I have some paper 'test tube' favors with an Easter theme. These sweet little containers are easy and fun to make, especially if you have the Simply Scored tool from SU. For the larger favor I started with CS 5"x 5 1/2"; for the smaller favor I started with 3"x 5 1/2" CS; then you just score every 7/8" on the 5 1/2" side. For the top and bottom, just punch out 2 fancy flowers.

To decorate I used 'Enchanted' DSP and the stamp set 'Everybunny', the Designer Frames embossing folder, SU Markers, and glitter...of course...glitter queens love glitter, lol :)

These little favors could hold a variety of candy treats, or jewelry and will surely put a smile on the face of the recipient, and they could be made for any holiday, occasion, or event. I love the way they turned out plus there fun to make!

Thank you for stopping by, before you leave become a follower of my blog and leave a comment...each comment throughout the week will be entered into a drawing for some Blog Candy!!!
Next on the hop is the talented Jennifer Kay ,hop on over to her Blog and see what fabulous creation she has to share.....

Flirtatious Doily Flower Greeting

Happy Friday,

I love the weekends, especially when they are 3 day weekends! Both this week and next are, I need the extra day with no alarm,lol.....already I am longing for spring break, a whole week, no, 10 days off :)
Today I want to share with you a greeting with a flower focal point, I made using the die cut doily sheets in the 'Flirtatious' DSP pk.

To begin I carefully cut away one of the doily's from the die cut sheet, there is a variety of shapes and designs, cut it away so it looks like a small complete doily when done. Then I used a dauber and 'soft suede' ink on the doily edges, if you lay it on a piece of paper it's easier. Set the doily aside, then using the fancy flower punch, punch out 2 flowers, I used 'Flirtatious' DSP, then I used the vanilla lined DSP and punched out 1 doily flower with the 3-way punch. Use the dauber and 'soft suede' on the edges of all the punched flowers. Then use something round (like a knitting needle or crochet hook) and curl up the edges of the fancy flower shapes and the doily piece.
Now just assemble using a brad, I used 'enchanted', the doily goes on the bottom then the 2 fancy flowers, then the small doily flower. I used small ribbon to create a bow that I attached like leaves.
I love the look of the flower, I think they would also work well on scrapbook pages, they are kind of large, but that also works well for a simple, quick, but fabulous card front.
Enjoy and have a fantastic weekend!

Inspired Mojo Monday Greeting

Hello,

I've been so busy around the house getting rid of clutter and trying to re-organize the house that I needed a little inspiration boost, so I checked out the mojo monday blog and used their sketch to create this greeting. This was from a couple of weeks ago so if you were to go there yourself you will find an entirely different sketch, sometimes it takes me awhile to get around to things, lol, with 3 girls and husband it's amazing that I get anything creative done, they can mess things up faster that I can clean :-)

The front reminds me of quilt blocks, I even did a little faux sewing/stitching around the blocks. I used the DSP 'Enchanted', and the the stamp set 'Fresh Vintage',plus some of the brads ,all from the Salebration Catalog. If you have not yet seen the fabulous items you can get Free with a $50. purchase, let me know and I will get a catalog to you.
I like the way it turned out, and it got me to thinking about doing some of my own card layout sketches, so much to do, so little time:D
Thanks for stopping by.....have a great day!
Tamara
