GQ Blog Hop Day 3
Good morning Paper Crafters,
Welcome back to our Spring Hop it's already Day 3, my goodness that went by fast, but I've had a great time sharing my creations and reading your comments, I appreciate them so much and a warm welcome to my new followers I hope you stop by often. I look forward to future Hops!
Around my house it's softball season and I have 3 girls playing; with practice and games life's busy, lol, but my oldest daughter has grown to love and plays practically all sports, she's my all-sport Star:) So for my first project today I created a mini 4 x 4 Album featuring my daughter in all her sports pics for this year....soccer, basketball, volleyball and softball. I used some 'Well Worn' DSP from the IBC and some 'Sweet Shoppe' from the mini. The stars and the tag are chipboard, the stars are painted white and I added rhinestones, girls like bling :) I also used some chipboard pieces with fun words on them, the softball was a 1"circle punch with the lines drawn in red.
These mini albums work up fast and are fun to make, the base is an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of CS, cut in half (you'll have 2 pieces 4 1/4 x 11) attach the 2 pieces together to create one long strip (overlap the 2 pieces 2") then score every 4". Simply decorate to your hearts desire. I chose to make it a book that folds out and only decorated one side, but I'm working on another that I am going to decorate on both sides. To close I punched a hole on one end then used ribbon to tie it closed. They hold 5 to 10 photos and are a great gift idea!
For my second project I got to thinking about decorating bags for gifts, now although I used brown paper sacks for this project this method would also work well for solid colored gift bags or kraft bags, etc. I just used what I happened to have on hand.
As you can see I used more of the flowers as I did in my previous posts, I guess I couldn't stop making them once I got started, lol, the larger was made using the triple layer flower punch and the middle size one was made with a 1" circle punch, the small flowers are the mini punches, then I added pearl and rhinestone bling.
I hope you enjoyed todays projects as much as I enjoyed creating them! Thank you for joining us for our Spring Hop! Remember for another chance at my Blog candy, Follow me if your not already and leave a comment! I will announce the winner Saturday afternoon, when I get home from the softball games.
Have a wonderful day! Now on to Anji's Blog........

Glitter Queens Spring Blog Hop Day 2
Good morning Paper Crafters, welcome back to day 2 of our Hop! I hope you enjoyed the fabulous projects everyone created for Wednesday, I was certainly inspired. Today I have a couple of cards to share, the first one has more of the flowers like I used on yesterdays card, only with these I wanted a two-tone effect so they would match the stamped flowers that I painted using ink and blender pens.
I started by punching out flowers with yellow CS; after crimping, distressing and separating them I used the blender pen to wet then add color to the edges, then I dried them with my heating tool. I used designer printed brads for the centers. I also used the blender pens to paint in the yellow and poppy parade on the stamped flowers, the effect looks like watercolor and is really easy to do.
As you can see from the inside this is a Mothers Day Card....I actually made it for my mom pink is her favorite color, (now I'm just hoping she doesn't see this post, lol, or it will spoil the surprise). I do some of my best work when I'm creating for my loved ones.
For my second card I have a birthday greeting, I love the simplicity of it, crisp and clean, it was inspired by the mini thank you card it's pictured with that I liked so much that I decided to create a full size card with the same style/layout on the front. I also decorated the inside of this card and stamped a sentiment. Along the side I used the new edgelets die. I love them, if you don't have one yet it is a tool you would love too :)
Thank you for visiting, remember leave a comment and follow me if you don't already to get your name in the hat for some Blog Candy! Winner will be announced Saturday afternoon.....
Enjoy the rest of the hop, now onto Anji's Blog.....

Good morning Ladies,
I'm so happy to have you join us for another spring hop, the Glitter Queens, myself included, have a great time participating in these hops. They are as inspiring to us as they are to you, and for this hop we have no particular theme, pretty much anything goes :) Fun, fun, I can't wait to see what everyone has created........... You should have arrived from Jan Mougel's Blog, I hope your enjoying your journey so far.
Today I have a greeting card to share, the inspiration for it was the DSP Attic Boutique, I love, love, love this paper, :) blue and beige are one of my favorite color combo's.
The flowers were cased from Dostampingwithdawn, thanks Dawn, first you punch out 2 flowers, then run them through the crimper, then wad them up, then un-wad them, then you carefully peel the 2 layers apart, the inside faces up (they have a soft, suede look) I then put the 4 layers together held with wire and a button. I love the way these flowers turn out, you can make them in different sizes and with different flower punches. You will see another example using them from me later in the hop.
The butterflies were from the 'Kindness matters' and 'For all you do' stamp sets, I added some bling to the larger one using pearls. To fancy it up a little more I added crystal beads and pearl beads to a large hat pin then pinned it to the crochet lace bow. Although it's hard to see I added some dazzling diamonds to the letters in the word 'Thanks'.
The bottom photo is of the inside.
I hope you enjoyed my card :), if you follow me and leave a comment I'll put your name in the hat to win some Blog Candy! I will announce the winner on Saturday but it will be late afternoon because my girls have softball games in the morning and early afternoon. Be sure to stop by tomorrow, I will have a new project to share with you! And now on to Anji Clements Blog
.........Happy Hopping!

Papercraft Star Challenge French
Happy Sunday Paper Crafters,
When I was blog hopping around checking out the beautiful creations done by the challenge entry's at ColourQ I found another challenge :) this one is at Papercraft Star. While I am rather a newbie when it comes to challenges I had to join in when I saw it was anything French. I've always loved anything and everything french plus I had a cool background stamp that I had yet to use and this was the perfect opportunity to ink it up.
I've been in a very vintage card making mood it seems lately so my card is distressed and vintage looking. The distressing is kind of a faux burning effect, I love the result. I used watercolor pencils to color in the background stamp, the water droplets continue onto the inside and surround the sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by and Thank you Papercraft Star for the inspiration!

cQc Challenge #133
Good morning Paper Crafters,
I had so much fun participating in last weeks ColourQ challenge that I decided to join in the fun again this week. I love how those palettes get your creative juices flowing. I focused on the darker colors of this selection and after finding a piece of DSP fitting the scheme I had a lightbulb moment, lol, and knew I wanted to use the image from Elementary Elegance and emboss it in black. My daughter liked the card but said it looked goth, lol, I think that was a compliment :) I liked the way it turned out too.
Here's the palette:
And here is my take:
A closer view of the details:
And on the inside:
There's still a little time to join the challenge so come play along :)
Thanks for stopping by and Thank You ColourQ!

Embellished Sketch Journal
Hello Paper Crafters,
I've been busy doing some early cooking today....my oldest daughter has a softball game and I wanted a good dinner, not ball park food, and I knew that I wouldn't feel like cooking after the game, lol. So I'm cooking a pot of beans, some homebaked bread, and I made cupcakes for dessert.
Thankfully our weather warmed up over the weekend so it will be pleasant outside to watch the game, we actually had a couple games and practice cancelled because of the thunderstorms we were experiencing last week.
Today I thought I would share an embellished journal I created to use as a card/scrapbook template sketch book. It's the On-board journal from SU, it's spiral bound, has a board front and back and is full of sketching pages.
On the inside of the back page I added a little pocket with a small rectangle/for cards, and a square/for scrapbook sketches. I can just trace them then I start out my sketch with straight edges.
I can't wait to start drawing, hope I can think of some good templates :)
Well I need to blast off.....it's almost game time!
Have a great day,
Tamara

cQc Challenge #132
Hello Paper Crafters,
I'm so excited to share today's post, I was recently hopping around checking out some cardmaker blogs and came across a badge for Colour Q, even though I have been there before I have never participated in a challenge, until today, there's always a first time for everything, lol.
This color combo was definitely a challenge for me as they were not colors I would typically put together, but I do love the way my card turned out.
I've been in a vintage mood lately and I love creating and using flowers so I knew I wanted to use those elements for this card. I used satin ribbon to create the large pumpkin pie flower and cs for the smaller flower on the tag. I added ribbon twirled and a few poppy colored buds to balance out and complete the front.
I had fun with this challenge and want to thank the ladies at Colour Q for all their hard work and for letting me play along :)

Scallop Envelope Greeting
Good morning Paper Crafters,
I have another project today using the SU Scallop die and the blue and beige color combo, I used the Kindness matters stamp set. I like butterflies so I love this set, plus it's so versatile it could be used for a variety of occasions and it's inexpensive. Although my card design looks simple there are really a lot of details added. I used the SU's scallop punch on the edge of the cs and dsp on the front, I created a flower using the doily triple layer punch, 3 layers of newsprint and the bottom layer is blue cs, then I used a glitter brad in the center. The trio of butterflies was stamped onto the dsp then I used SU neutral markers to color them in.
Here is my supply list:
Scallop Envelope-113462
Doily Triple Layer punch-122465
Kindness Matters Stamp Set-122902
Marina Mist Scallop dot Ribbon-122986
Designer printed brads-122940
Glimmer brads Brights-121005
Marina Mist CS-119682
DSP Attic Boutique -125407
I love the end result, these colors are so serene, the perfect way to say Thank you to a special someone in your life.
Thank you for stopping by....

Queen for a Day Birthday Greeting
Hello Paper Crafters,
I've been absent a bit due to a crazy busy schedule and spring break, my girls had 10 days off (that's counting weekends) I spent a lot of the time playing games, crafting, cooking and hanging with them. We had a few windy days and made good use of them flying kites....towards the end of vacation we played badmitton and on the last day my daughter got her cast taken off! She had a buckle fracture but it is all healed, yea!, and she can get back to her normal activities in a week.
For today's post I have a birthday greeting, I love the vintage type look to it and all the details. I wanted to create a card using blue and beige and I wanted to incorporate a scallop envelope, ( it is a new die for me so I just had to use it, lol) The crown and key accents were heat embossed gold to add bling fitting for a Queen for the Day.
A look at the details and below a peek inside....
I hope you enjoyed my greeting, Thanks for stopping by!
