Mosaic Madness retrosketches #75

Hello Papercrafters,

I've been participating in some challenges with some fellow SU Demonstrators, we belong to a private group and the challenges help us to get ideas and inspiration from each other.

This week we are working with the colors bermuda bay, daffodil delight, and crumb cake.  When I work with color challenges I like to get the colors out and just look at them together before I decide how I'm going to incorporate them into a card.  Since crumb cake is one of my favorite colors to work with I decided to use it for the base,  I also wanted to use the mosaic embossing folder to the design and had the idea of doing some fussy cutting along either end to create an interesting effect.....well I love, love, love it and I'm not alone several ladies also liked the effect.....smiles.

Here's the front..

I am also entering this card into the retrosketches challenge #75 here's the sketch:

I will be using this technique again, in fact I am going to have to get the stamp set that goes along with it.    I will also be demonstrating this technique in a video.....my girls go back to school on Wednesday so I will be able to schedule in video time, I will miss them but yeaaaa! for more video time!

On the inside of this card I added another flower like on the front and a stamped sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Papercrafters,

Happy Saturday, I hope everyone is having a great start to their weekend!  I am going to take my girls shopping for new backpacks & needed school supplies today, I can't believe summer break is almost over :( yes it makes me sad, I love staying up late and sleeping till 9, lol, just glad I don't have to go to school anymore :)

I thought I would share another sympathy card I created for another family member.  Again I used the stained glass technique, I thought it was so gorgeous and wanted something really elegant to show how much I care........I used a white cs base, added a dsp layer and stamped the images on vellum with versa mark, then added embossing powder and heat set.  To give the flowers and leaves color just turn them over and use a dauber to rub ink color on.......
here's the inside.....

Vellum Tree and Leaves

Hello Papercrafters,

I'm back with another card using the same technique as the last 2 cards I shared......I needed a sympathy card for a family member and love the elegant quality you can achieve by stamping with versa mark on vellum then adding embossing powder to heat set.  I wanted to add some color to the tree and the leaves so I just used a dauber to sponge some ink onto the back of the image, did some fussy cutting and added to the framed area.

This technique adds a stained glass look to your card and is becoming a favorite of mine, with so many colors of embossing powders and ink the possibilities are endless.

I also added some dsp along with a sentiment and more leaves to finish the inside....

 Here's my supply list:

White cs #100730

Modern Medley dsp #126926

Papaya Collage Stamp set c #132055   w#126612

Thoughts & Prayers Set c#128751      w#127805

Gumball Ink #126861

Emboss Powder Black #109133

Versa mark # 102283

Pearls #119247

I hope you will be inspired to create a card using the stained glass technique, try it it's fun!

Thanks for stopping by,

Papaya Forever Embossed

Hello Papercrafters,

I'm back to share a card very similar to my last post, in fact this one followed the other during the creative process, you know how one idea leads to another or how a cool technique just has to be repeated, lol, well I love the gingham circle in the 'Kind & Cosy' set and I loved the way the dsp peeked through the vellum so I decided to use the frame from the 'Papaya Collage' set and case my first card :)

Here's the front

Once created I thought the sentiment was nice for an anniversary card so I finished the inside and added the sentiment on the inside.

This card is very elegant, perfect to celebrate a wedding Anniversary....the dsp I used is 'Modern Medley' you can find it in the newly released SU IBC......contact me if you need a copy or visit my SU shop   now until the end of July, 2013 if you buy 3 packs of dsp you get one Free!  Great time to stock up!

Thanks for stopping by, Have a great weekend!

Kind & Cosy with Butterflies

Hello Papercrafters,

As most of you know Stampin'Up!'s new IBC has recently been released...(if you need a copy let me know and I'll get one to you) and I am participating in a SWAP with some other demo's, we are using new sets from the new IBC.  Well I choose to use the set Kind & Cosy, I just love the gingham and knew I had to have it, lol, when I created my swap card I also combined it with the hostess set Morning Meadow.  I cannot share my swap card just yet but will after all swapping is done :) But while I was creating my swap card I was inspired to combine some heat embossing on vellum to create a greeting.  I loved the way it turned out so much that I created another design using the same method and I love, love, love, both of them.  Here's my greeting....

I really like how you can see the dsp through the vellum, looks so elegant.

I finished the inside using the dsp on the front and a perfect sentiment.
This gorgeous set is a must have I'm so glad I got it, you can get your set from my SU Shop!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

cQc 195 Daisies

Hello Papercrafters,

I'm back again with another challenge card courtesy of ColourQ's  cQc #195.  I really enjoy these color challenges they make me use color combinations together that I would not normally do, and I most often, lol, love the results.  This week as I was laying out the colors to see what I was working with I had a lightbulb moment about using a stamp, I had recently made a completely different type of card with, using the challenge colors.

It's a simple design, but I love how it turned out.......

Thanks ColourQ!  Now I'm off to cook dinner........Have a wonderful day!
