Blog Candy Winner!!!

Good morning Paper Crafters,

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day, it's warming up here, supposed to be quite warm, upper 90's, yep summers here. I thought I would share a couple pics of my girls with the announcement. I'm so proud of them and their accomplishments :)

Here is my 10 yr old showing off her gold rush model, it was her big end of the school year project, all the 4th graders had to make a model of the gold rush or a Ca. mission.  Of course I helped and guided her,  we used paper mache for the mountains, the background was painted, we used toy solders, cut off the guns and she painted on miners clothing, I made paper brims for their hats and the long tom box was made out of popsicle sticks........she was so proud as you can see......

I also have to share a photo of my oldest daughter and her All-Stars Team-the Warriors, they played in a tournament last weekend and won 1st Place!!!!!  I'm so proud of her and her teammates, awesome job girls!!!  Here they are right after winning, look at those happy faces :)

Now onto the Announcement you've all been waiting for; the winner of the Blog Candy!

I used a random.org generator to pick the winning comment and without further ado the Winner is:

Glitter Queens May Hop Day 3

Good morning Paper Crafters, welcome back to Day 3 of our hop!

I am always so amazed at how quickly these hops go by, must be because they are so much fun. I've had a great time seeing what the other Glitter Queens create, it's wonderful to share ideas. I absolutely love the card Dawn shared yesterday, I saw lots of awesome creations, I'm glad it's summer break so I have time to do some crafty case ing :~)  I want to extend a special thank you to Dawn for spreading the word about our hop and for sending so many visitors our way, Thank you Dawn, your awesome!

For today I have 3 projects to share, to begin I have a couple of cards, that I created using the stamp sets 'Papaya collage' & 'Forever with you' and the new 'in' colors and the new DSP 'Comfort Cafe'. I used some pearl bling and the stitched grosgrain ribbon to embellish. On my Home is where....card I used the new 'in' color markers to color the stamp before stamping, it took a few minutes but I love how it turned out, these colors look beautiful together.

It's hard to see in the photo but I used dazzling diamonds on the rose on the front of the thankful card. I left room on the inside to personalize with a note. On both cards I also used the scallop punch on the dsp.

I have a 3rd project to share today,  after a weekend of softball and a little rest yesterday I was itching to do something crafty, so I created a scrapbook page. I've been getting more into scrapbooking lately because I've been trying to get some of our family photos into albums.  I included alot of different elements on this page but I thought they all worked well together. To create it in addition to the supplies mentioned above I also used the stamp sets 'Kindness matters', 'Build a Blossom' and 'Loving thoughts'.

I want to say many Thanks to everyone who took time in their day to join us for this hop, visitors and comments make me very happy. To say Thank you for following my blog and commenting I have an assortment of ribbon, cardstock and brads for my 'Blog Candy'

So follow me and leave a comment for more chances to WIN, I will announce the winner tomorrow Thursday!

Have a wonderful day! Now on to Jennifer's Blog.......

Glitter Queens May Blog Hop Day 2

Hello Paper Crafters,

Welcome to Day 2 of our Hop, I'm glad your here to join us again!  Thank you to everyone for your wonderful comments, I'm so glad you liked my golfing card, I thought it was cool too,  I can think of several golfing dad's I know personally plus it's quick and easy to make, can't wait to give it to the lucky recipient  :)

Yesterday I was so exhausted, as were my girls, it was a weekend long softball tournament for the ALL-Stars, 2 of my daughters were playing in the tournament, and both teams did very well, but my oldest daughter and her under 12's team were the champions and came in 1st Place!!!I am sooooo proud of her, it was the most awesome thing ever, I taped the whole championship game :) Sorry for getting off track but I'm just beaming inside, lol, and had to share.

For Day 2 I have some birthday goodies to share, I am using the new DSP comfort cafe and the stamp set's Papaya collage and Forever with you, I'm also using our new CS 'In color' collection. First I created a birthday greeting, I used our new labels die collection to create the 3 panels on the front, I used 2 different sizes, so the middle cs panel with the greeting would stand out. I added some pearl bling to the center panel and to the butterflies. This butterfly stamp is just gorgeous too, a new fave of mine. The ribbon is our new 1/4" stitched grosgrain, very pretty, can't wait to get more colors of it.

 Inside:
My next project is another fun little cottage I created using the milk carton die, I made this with my mom in mind, she has a birthday coming up soon and she loves cute little houses :). I love this die this favor box is perfect for little houses of all kinds.

I used a punch to create the detail on the roof and eave edge, the windows, and door were just made from small pieces of scrap paper, the new dsp made a perfect door with a brad for a knob, the Happy Birthday banner was glued to wire that I glued to the inside of the box. I just love how cute this turned out, but once I created it the house it seemed like it needed more so I added a gumball green lawn and added the rock walkway and flowers. It was fun to make but all the little piece's take alot of patience to work with.

I hope you enjoyed my goodies for today, I have more to share tomorrow so don't forget to stop by, and remember to follow me and comment for more chances to

                                                     Win Blog Candy!!!

Now hop on over to Jennifer's Blog to see her creations......

Glitter Queens May Blog Hop Day 1

Good morning PaperCrafters,

Welcome to Day 1 of our May Glitter Queens Blog Hop! I'm so glad you have stopped by for a visit. As always there will be many fabulous inspiring projects to get your creative juices flowing.

If you have arrived from Dawn's Blog, your in the right place but if you get lost along the way I have a list of the hoppers and links to their blogs at the bottom of this post.

For today's post I have a couple of cards for Fathers Day, for the most part I find masculine cards difficult, and I'm thinking I'm not alone as there is not alot of manly cards out there to draw inspiration from, but I am pleased with the results of my attempt, lol.

I used a new stamp set, that will be available in the new SU IBC, June 1, I love this set! the images could be used for feminine or masculine projects, various occasions or for a vintage look, so cool, I also used some of our new DSP available in a few days, it kind of reminds me of argyle socks, lol.

I wanted the frame to have a two-tone quality so I stamped it twice then layered them together, the pine trees are from a Christmas set , I guess I think pine trees are manly, lol, the Dad is made from letters from another set, I stamped it a few times and cut out the letters I wanted, for the front and the inside.

For my second card I drew my inspiration from my step-dad, he is retired and an avid golfer, so I cut out a golfing green shape added the flag, I used the pennant parade set to make the flag then used markers to write the #1 on it, my hole puncher made the golf ball :) The CS is from our new color collection.

It's simple and fast to create but has manly written all over it, lol.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoy yourself for the rest of your journey.....but before you move on become a follower of my blog if your not already and leave a comment to get your name in the drawing for my Blog Candy!!!!  I'll announce the winner on Thursday! Be sure to stop by tomorrow, I have more new projects to share :~)

Now on to the fabulous, fun,  Jennifer's Blog......wonder what she's got up her sleeve :) Happy Hopping!

Stepped Up Sweets for the Sweet

Hello Paper Crafters,

I hope your all doing well and are having a great week. My life has been so busy lately with the end of the school year activities, end of the Softball season games, and now All-Star practice and their first tournament this weekend. I have 2 daughters that made the All-Stars Softball team, 2 different age groups, and today was the last day of school, so we are officially on summer vacation!!!! whoot whoot! But with the tournament this weekend we won't get to rest or sleep-in until Monday, lol, but next week look out, it's kick back watch lots of movies time :)
Since I'm going to be going like crazy all weekend I wanted to share my stepped up version of a card I shared a couple weeks ago for a challenge, SU has been featuring this type of technique in their Stampin Success Magazine for Demonstrators. I really love this technique because it demonstrates how you can do a quick and simple but stunning card then if you have more time you can step it up, or fancy it up and get a really fabulous card each of them would be wonderful to give or receive.  Give this technique a try, it's alot of fun to see where your creativity leads you.

I have exciting news to share!

Myself and some of the other Glitter Queens are having another Blog Hop! We will be hopping on Monday the 28th (yes, Memorial Day, come hop with us before your picnic adventures :) and Tuesday 29th and Wednesday the 30th.  I have different projects for each day and one of the days I and some of the other ladies will have some projects for Fathers Day!  And I'm hearing that there is some blog candy to WIN!!!  I will be offering Blog Candy as well.  So be sure to stop by and hop along with us, there will be lots of inspiring creations!!!

cQc 137 Tea Shoppe

Hello Paper Crafters,
I'm so happy I had the time to participate in this weeks cQc challenge, I love these colors!!!  One of my new favorite stamp sets is 'Tea Shoppe' so I thought I would use that for the challenge, and well of course doily's and tea go together :)  I stamped 2 teacups and on the 2nd tea cup I used a blender pen to add tempting turquoise to the flowers, then I cut them out and used dimensionals to attach them to the teacup. I also used SU markers to hand color the peony shop stamp before stamping.  I love the way it turned out, so fun.  I'm going to use this palette again! Thank you ColourQ for the challenge :)

Here's the palette:

And my card:

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Good morning Paper Crafters,
I haven't had a chance to post anything since Saturday, the closer it gets to the end of the school year, the more activities there are going on. I went on a field trip to the zoo with my youngest on Tuesday. It was a fun day, but my legs were sure tired, lol.  I was going to post this project on Sunday, it was what I made for my mom, but my girls & husband got the coolest gift for me, an Android Tablet!, wow it is the neatest thing, it reads books, have 2 already, plays games, music, videos, you can surf too, so needless to say I was playing with my new toy :)
So today's project is a mini-album that I made for my mom, it is made the same as the project I completed for our last GQ hop, I also used the diagonal scoring tool to make a pretty envelope for it .

Here it is all wrapped up pretty:

And on the inside:

Just a little newsbite I want to share......the Glitter Queens including myself will be having another hop on May 28, 29, & 30th!!! We have several ladies that will be sharing their fabulous paper crafting skills, and I hear some will be offering blog candy!!! I will too :)  so be sure to pop in for our hop!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Freshly Made Sketches # 33

Good afternoon Paper Crafters,
I have a sweet little card for you that I created for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge, it's very simple and not overly embellished,  just right when you are crunched for time and need a Birthday greeting.  I just had a little time before my daughters softball game and wanted to participate in the challenge, for me clean was simple and sweet.  I plan on doing a stepped up version of this card to demonstrate the stepped up technique SU had an article about in their Stampin Success magazine for demonstrators, I'll post that sometime next week.
Here's the Sketch:

And my card:

Now I'm off to cook dinner then to help my daughter with her Gold Rush model :) I love crafty homework, lol.
Thank you Freshly Made Sketches for letting me participate in your challenge!
