Peace on Earth

Greetings Papercrafters,

This has been a busy month and it goes by sooooo fast, too fast for me, I love the holidays. Christmas has passed and we are now relaxing and playing with our new toys :-) and getting ready to ring in the New Year.
It seems like last year just flew by.......the way it's going summer vacation will soon be here, lol.  I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas our's was great as always, I love love love Christmas morning with all the squeals and excitement and I love hearing  " this is the best Christmas Ever!"  which Maia said repeatedly!

I apologize for being absent from the blogging world, so much has happened in the last few months.......I had a booth at our local fair, it was for 4 days, let me tell you I was so exhausted but many good things happened.......first of all I sold alot of my handmade goodies, met a handful of ladies wanting to attend classes, although in reality I have had only 3 that actually came :( but I'm hopeful that I can increase those numbers in the new year)   The most exciting thing is that I had a job dropped into my lap while I was there, I am now an Area Coordinator for Inter-Ed.org, my job is to find host families for foreign exchange students, interview the potential host family, check out the references and check on the students while they are here to make sure all is well.  It's really perfect for me I work out of my home (its a non-profit) so I have time for my papercrafting and my family :-)   I've found 2 families for the Spring session, hoping I will find at least 5 for the Fall session.
Today I have a seasonal card to share, the sentiment on the front is how I feel especially in light of the tragic shooting a couple weeks ago, not to mention all the negativity that is transpiring in our world.....Peace on Earth, my wish for the world, our nation, our families.

Thank you for stopping by,
Happy New Year!!!!

Stamped Leaves Fall Greeting

Hello Papercrafters,

I'm just relaxing and enjoying a cup of coffee after a long busy day, for me it starts at 7:00 when I get up to get my girls ready for school, then I came home, made a card sample for Saturdays class, love it!, then I did some housework, vacuuming, picking up......where does it all come from.....stuff, and laundry.  Then had something to eat and off to work with my husband shaking raisins, we worked for 4 hours, so now I'm tired and it's time to cook dinner, lol, it never ends :)

So while I was relaxing a bit I thought I would share a card that I will be using in this weeks Stamp a Stack, I saw another similar card, different stamps, and sort of cased it, although I don't know who it was I cased it from :/ I don't even have a copy, just saw and re-created from memory.  I love the idea of stamping in various colors right on the first layer, then just pop up some accents and walla you have a great card.

Here is my version:

I have a sentiment stamp that says 'Give Thanks', which would also work great on the front of this greeting and will be available in the class.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful evening and a great Friday!

Boooooo Greeting

Good morning Papercrafters,

I hope you having a good week so far, I am enjoying the fabulous fall weather we are having, looking forward to Halloween.  I saw some good decorating tips on tv and on the web that I want to try out, hope to get some decorating done this afternoon.  I usually have my decorations up by now but I've been helping my husband with raisin harvest and I've been too busy or too tired to deal with it :/
Saturday I have a stamp a stack Class of fall inspired designs.......a little mixture of Fall and Halloween, today I am going to share one of the designs we will re-create.

This card features the DSP Howlstooth and Scaring Bone in our holiday mini, I used the spider web embossing folder and the stamped images are from the Googlie Ghouls stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Day 5- Festive Blog Hop- Gift Bags

Hello Papercrafters,

Welcome Back to our Festive Hop, it's already Day 5, the fun goes by so fast :) I've gotten so many great ideas from the other Glitter Queens, it's going to be fun to try some new ideas out.
For today's hop I was told the theme is Gift Bags, another fun project just in time for the holidays.  I recently bought some plain, undecorated bags from one of those $1. stores, I picked up some in white, purple, pink, red, blue, and the kraft color, I had already decided to decorate my own bags for the holiday season.

For the hop I decorated a pink bag and one of the kraft bags. On the pink bag I used the 'Snow Festival' dsp in the mini, I used one side with the owls for my framed image and made the starry band using the other side. I used the big shop pennant die to create the tag in the upper right corner.

For the kraft bag I had an idea to create a poinsettia using the same method as the ornaments on the cover of the holiday mini. I used the ornament dies, 2 different sizes to create the petals, then I felt it needed a little sparkle so I added some dazzling diamonds to the edges. I used the 'Bells and Boughs' set to add a little stamping and used the snowflake die to cut out the sparkly snowflakes.

I hope you enjoyed the hop and are inspired to create some of your own Gift bags for the holidays.

Thanks for your comments and for visiting my blog.
Have a great weekend!

Day 4 Festive October Blog Hop- Gift Card Holders

Hello Papercrafters,
Welcome to Day 4 of our Festive October Hop, I'm so glad you stopped by for todays share. When I learned that we would be making Gift Card Holders I thought oh good, that's something I've been wanting to make...gift cards have really become a popular gift item especially for the holidays, so what better than a fabulous holder to make it really special.

I love my simply scoring diagonal plate and decided to create an envelope out of dsp for my holders. I created a pocket inside to hold the gift card, so it doesn't fall all the way to the bottom of the envelope.  For the first one I used a band to hold it closed and attached the snowman image to the band, on the other side of the band I wrote to / from.

On my 2nd holder I created a tag that I attached to the front, the ribbon hanger at the top could be attached to a christmas tree hook and hung from the tree, on the other side I used buttons and twine to create a closing, simply wrap the twine around the green button.

I'm really pleased with the way they turned out, I have a couple of holiday fairs coming up and plan on making several for my booth, think I'll make some for the family too :)
I'm going to make a video showing how to make these, but that will have to wait till next week, helping my husband on the farm this week.

Thanks for stopping by, Have a great day!

Day Three Festive October Blog Hop

Hello Papercrafters,
Welcome to Day 3 of our Festive October Blog Hop! I'm so happy I was invited to join in on the fun. With the holidays soon approaching I have been creating lots of Christmas greetings, I have a couple I will share with you today.
My first card features the tall snowman from the 'Snow much Fun' set, it has become one of my favorites, I use it for cards, favors, gift cards, and gift tags. The snowmen in this set are so warm and friendly they instantly put a smile on your face.

I used Gumball green cs and Snow Festival dsp, the greeting was from the 'Greetings of the season' set both are in the holiday mini. I used SU markers to color the snowman after stamping it with black stazon.
For my 2nd greeting I used a Very vanilla cs base, then added an embossed band of Real red, the stamped image is a combination of the retired set 'Make merry', it's still one of my favorite sets and I really love the way it looks with the Merry Christmas from the 'Bells and Boughs' set. I framed the image with a little of the 'Snow Festival dsp.

I hope you enjoyed your visit,

Thanks for stopping by and now on to De's Blog your next stop......

Halloween Treat Box

Good morning Papercrafters,
I can't believe October is already here, this year has really flown by, since the end of July I've been creating and working toward getting ready for the fair, my biggest event so far, 4 days, it ended Saturday and I am still exhausted, lol.  But this month has one of my favorite holidays- Halloween! I still dress up every year and my girls are still young enough that they like to dress up and go trick or treating, yea. Plus they always have class parties and need treats of course.
So for today I'm going to share with you a little Halloween Treat box I created.  I found the pattern for the box in a cardmaker mag.....can't remember which one, but it anyone wants directions let me know and I will share.  It's super easy to create and could be made in any color for any occasion.
I used the Spooky bingo bits to decorate, and I'm going to add the googly eyes to my little green monster(using the Ghoulish Goolies kit), when I first created it my kit was on backorder  it was delivered while I was at the fair :).......omg those googly eyes are the cutest.
This little box is 2" x 2", treats could be added in a small cello bag or if you added some colorful shredded paper and place the treats on top.
Here is my supply list:
Black CS-#121045
Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP-#126906
Glitter brads-#121006
Spooky bingo bits stamp set-#123944 wood
                                            #123946 clear
I hope you enjoyed my little favor, thanks for stopping by!

.Labels Favor- Fall themed

Happy Friday Papercrafters,
I'm still busily preparing for the fair, it's just around the corner, next week in fact, I'm really excited and a little nervous too.  I've got flyers made for several classes I have planned for the fall/winter of this year and I hope I get several class guests signed-up. I've also made ton's of goodies; cards, post-it holders, bookmarks, hand-sanitizer holders, collage hangings, iris folds, scrapbook pages, accordian albums, and more!
Today I'm going to share a favor created with the label's die, they are quite easy to create and have room inside to hold a nice treat.  Today's version is fall inspired, I think they would dress up a Thanksgiving table nicely and could be personalized with a tag with the recipients name.
I also have a Christmas version of this favor and of course it could be personalized for any holiday or occasion.
Supply List:
Very vanilla CS
retired ribbon and DSP
Stamp Sets: Perfectly preserved and Hostess set Four Seasons
Labels die

Have a great weekend!

Fall Inspired Class Design

Good morning Papercrafters,

I have been so busy preparing for my big 4 day event the end of the month, it's our local fair, actually California's largest free gate fair!, that I have been neglecting my blog :/  So my apologies for being so absent. I have not only been creating a bunch of new products, but I've also been working on my class plans, designs and schedule for the last 1/4 of the year. If you are local to our area please come out and see all the goodies I have available, sign up for a class they are so much fun.  I also have a box of retired stamps and some packs of retired dsp, plus I have lots of our current Mini Holiday Catalog and IBC, both are a fantastic treasure trove of ideas and fabulous products!
I'm so excited for this event, I've wanted to do it for the last couple of years but I felt like my girls were too young to be allowed to run around without me, but they are older now and prefer hanging with their friends and not me anyway so this is an awesome opportunity to give my SU business a jump start. When I first joined the SU family papercrafting was more of a hobby to me, but now that I see the wonderful trips and other fabulous perks they offer I wanted to work the business side.

Today I'm going to share a greeting I created for a Stamp a Stack scheduled in October, actually cased this card from one of our StampinSuccess magazines, but I changed it up a bit to make it my own with a fall feel.
 Here is my supply list:
So saffron cs-#115108
Very Vanilla cs-101650
Patio Party dsp-#126916
Linen thread-#104199
Itty bitty shapes punch pack-#118309
Pearl basic jewels-#119247
Tagtastic stamp set- sorry this is retired but could be swapped with another label.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit, wishing you a fabulous Friday!!! and a wonderful weekend!

Welcome back!

Hello Papercrafters,
I am back to a more normal routine, took off the last month of summer break to spend time with my girls, did some shopping, went to the movies, did some crafting, played board games, hung out being goofy, then back to school shopping, but now they are back to school, started Monday, I have mixed feelings about that, I love having them home but it sure is easier to keep things in order when they are in school :D

I have been doing alot of card and other papercrafting projects.....I will have a booth at our local fair this year! Wow, I am so excited and nervous, 4 days.....I'm going to be so tired when it's done, lol.
I have also been working on my 4th quarter/Fall Class schedule.  I have classes for Oct/Nov/&Dec!  I'm hoping the fair will help me get them all filled :D ( I will also make them available to be mailed message me if your interested)  If you are local come on out and see all the goodies I have, lots of new papercraft creations, some retired SU,  IBC , mini catalogs, the Stampin'Up! opportunity, classes to sign up for,  it's going to be great!!!  Our fair is Sept. 26-29th!

I have been working with several new products from our new mini, wow is it ever full of soooo many wonderful new goodies, and of course I love everything, lol, wish my budget had no limits :) If you haven't gotten your own copy just message me and I will send one your way, besides the wonderful products within, it is also full of beautiful inspiring cards and many other projects!

But for today, since I have not had a chance to take photos of any new items I will be sharing a simple card I created a while back.....
Thank you for stopping by, my apologies for being absent so long, being a mom at my age I really need summer vacation, lol.
Have a wonderful day!

Hello Papercrafters,
As it turns out I'm a day late with my stepped up version of the Papaya collage greeting, there was too much to do to prepare for the softball tournament, I'm very happy to say my daughters team won 2 of 3 games and came very close to winning the won they lost, so they will play again tomorrow, thankfully we don't have to be there at 10am, it was 7:15 this morning and it's only a 15 minute drive so we get to sleep in a little :-)

Today I have a stepped up version of the card I posted a couple of days ago. I used the same layout, different colors, fancier tag, more stamping and a little bling.  I actually did 3 versions of this greeting, all different colors, but the wisteria wonder and lucky lucky limeade are my favorite. Overall the stepped up greeting is my favorite version of the greeting,  so experiment with your color combinations,  every change I made lead me to another idea.

If you would like to see the the original version just scroll down to the previous post or click on the post titled Papaya Collage greeting.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

French Scrapbook Sketches in Thyme# 80

Hello Papercrafters,
I have a scrapbook page to share today, I created it using the Sketches in Thyme #80 sketch. I love this DSP, it's so easy to fancy up, it already looks partially embellished.  I just had to use this color scheme so that I could use my pompom ribbon, this ribbon is so cool I want more colors :D I also used the lace roller stamp, this is also a cool tool I already love, no matter what color you ink it up with it turns out gorgeous.

Thanks for stopping by, tomorrow I will have the stepped up version of yesterday's card, be sure to stop by!
Have a great day,

Spring Papaya Collage greeting

Hello Papercrafters,
Hope your all having a good week so far, we're half way through now the weekend is getting closer :-) My 10 yr old has another Softball Tournament, hopefully the last,  although I did hear her coach talk about maybe another tourne :/......I'm ready for a break, seems like I've been going non-stop since winter break was over in January, lol.

Today I have a quick and easy simple greeting to share, I've done this layout in 3 different color combo's, and I'm using one of the combo's for a swap I'm participating in with some of the other Glitter Queens.

On Friday I'm going to share my 3rd color combo of this card ( and my favorite) only it will be a stepped-up version of the greeting, which just means a little fancier and more bling, but in my opinion the 3rd color combo is the best, I'm going to use it in a Class I'm currently planning for next month.

I apologize for the photo, not sure what happened, must of moved a bit while taking the pic :/

Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to stop by Friday to see my stepped-up version of this greeting :D
Have a great day!

July 4th Greeting

Hello Papercrafters,
I hope your having a good start to your week, after the busy weekend everyone is tired but we had a great time. My oldest daughter hit a home-run during one of their games and I actually captured it on tape, most of the time I'm just not taping at the right time, lol.  Right now my girls are all at my 10 yr. olds practice, they have a tournament this weekend, thankfully it's fairly close by so the commute will be fast.

Today I have a card that I created for the 4th of July, going to be here soon, it's a fairly simple card to create, I used the blue base and found the red-wood dsp in my xmas paper stack, seemed all-american to me :) I used the 'schoolbook serif' set to stamp the word in white staz-on. The stars were stamped with the 'wanted' set but if you don't have that you could swap with any star. I used the pennant die for the big shot, but drew the number 4 freehand then color with SU marker 'midnight muse'

Thanks for stopping by......

Postage Stamp Card

Good morning Papercrafters,
I hope everyone is having a happy friday, I have much to get ready for the weekend softball tournament my girls are playing in, it's been really hot here in sunny Cali, so I'm filling and taking an ice chest so I can keep up all plenty hydrated.  I haven't had much time for creating anything new lately, too much going on, plus I had a cold.......but I'm trying to get back to my daily blogging :) so bear with me these tournaments are almost over, yea! the last weekend in June and were done!

So I created this lovely card with a new set I recently obtained,  called 'Postage Due', I love this set!!!!  Awesome for summer scrapbooking and summer cards, now I need to get the postage punch which I don't already have :(   The new IBC is full of lots of fabulous stamps, accessories,  tools, CS and DSP  omg I have the longest wish list, lol. I've also seen the new mini, which will be available soon, it's also fabulous, much bigger than our past mini's!  If you are interested in getting your own copy of the new mini just contact me  and I will send one your way, if you would like a copy of the new IBC contact me and I'll let you know how you can get one.

After stamping the large image I used watercolor pencils to color in the flower,  I used markers to color the postage stamps before stamping, then I added lots of embelli's, my fave is the pom pom ribbon, so cute.

Have a wonderful weekend, I'll be back next week with more fun creations!

cQc 142 Challenge Blast off birthday

Hello Papercrafters,
I didn't realize it had been so long since my last post, with my girls being in the All-Stars were busy all the time,  then I caught a cold from my oldest,  then there was the baby shower for my nephew and his girlfriend so I was also busy making the favors and table decorations.  But now I'm feeling better and less busy, lol, and thankfully All-Stars will be over the end of June!!!,  so I decided to check out some challenges and found one at cQc.  Here is the colour palette:

I did something different, most of my work is girlie, lol, and I have all girls, but I also have lots of family and friends with boys so when I saw the 'Blast Off' stamp set in the the SU IBC I just had to have it!  I'm a celestial girl,  love looking at the sky and the planets and stars, so this was a set I knew I could really have fun with.

I started by creating the moon, which I just cut free-hand out of vanilla cs and then I used the crushed curry to color the edges.  I added some dazzling diamonds to the space ship to add a little sparkle, I continued the starry sky on the inside with the sentiment.  What fun! can't wait to surprise some special little guy with this one :)  Thanks colour Q!

Have a wonderful day!

Milk carton Baby Girl Favors

Hello Paper Crafters,

I haven't posted for a couple of days because I've been trying to get these favors done for my nephew and niece's baby shower next week. As you can see they are having a baby girl, and being the family papercrafting queen, lol, I was requested to make the favors.

I don't have many stamps for baby showers but I love this little onesie stamp, its so cute I love it on the front.  I made the favor using what card stock I had on hand, so we went with an array of pinks. I think it will look nice when there altogether, one shade of pink wouldn't have the same pizzazz and instead of sealing them shut I used the mini clothespins to close, then they open easily so the recipient can keep the favor, and you know they'll want to keep them, there so sweet :)  As I've said before I love this milk carton die, there's so many uses,  it also has ample room inside for a treat.

I'm also working on creating some centerpieces for the tables, making some cute pinwheels, I will be posting pictures when I get some finished, so check back.
I'm having a June Stamp Set Blog Candy Giveaway, leave a comment for a chance to win! Every comment in June will be entered, you can also Win a stamp set for ordering from my SU shop!, see details on the left side bar.
Thanks for stopping by,  have a wonderful day!

Papercraft Star Aqua Challenge

Hello Paper Crafters,

While I was about looking at some challenges, I found that Papercraft Star had an Aqua Challenge. I've always loved aqua in fact aquamarine is my birthstone I'm a Pisces :), so I knew I wanted to participate. I found some dsp I liked, actually 3 different ones, so instead of choosing only 1 or 2,  I decided to use them all.  With the top layer of dsp I thought I would create a scene. I recently learned a new way to make little rosettes from a fellow Glitter Queen- Dee Slater, thanks Dee! So I made several of them up, daubed them with aqua on the edges and added pearls to the centers. For the leaves I just hand cut the shapes added vein lines with a marker and daubed the edges. The flowers are fun to make, I'm going to have to try some other colors, I love the way they turned out.

My daughter has a softball scrimmage tomorrow morning so I'll be busy watching her play, and my cupboards are bare so we need to do some grocery shopping. Thought I would post this tonight so I don't miss the deadline. Enjoy your weekend!
Thanks for the challenge Papercraft Star!
Tamara

Just for you cQc139

Good afternoon Paper Crafters,

I was super busy last week with our Glitter Queens Blog Hop and my daughters Softball Tournament, so I did not get to participate in last weeks cQc color challenge. So with the hop and sports behind me for the time being, I ventured out to see what was going on in the challenge world.  At cQc here is this weeks colour palette:

It's a nice combination, crumb cake is one of my new favorite colors, so I started with it and one of my new fave stamps, I need the bigger wheel of this stamp design, not sure why, but I really like it. I used the new label dies to frame up the sentiment, it's a simple but sweet design.

I'm having a June Blog Candy extravaganza!!! See the details near the top of the left side of my blog!!

 Thanks for stopping by!
